About us....

Dog Rescue and Welfare is the heartbeat of Canine Skills Instructors.

We aim for our services to be accessible to as many dogs and owners as possible which is why we offer reasonable rates given our qualifications and experience.

Working within rescue charities for many years gaining first hand skills and each with multiple rescue dogs, arriving with ranges of issues from deafness, dog to dog and people reactivity, to separation related problems, most behaviour and training struggles with a wide variety of breeds have personally been experienced by Keran and Lucy allowing relatability with carers' own challenges.

Keran Gilmore and Lucy Cooper are both fully accredited members of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT).

Lucy is also a fully accredited member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainer Behaviourists (IMDTB) and holds levels 3 to 5 qualifications in Working and Understanding Canine Behaviour.

Keran is a Dog Bite Safety Educator, has been training dogs for 30 years, has worked in a rescue environment for 10 years and is currently Dog Trainer and Behaviour Advisor for a National Dog Rescue.

Lucy has worked in a rescue environment for over 20 years, is currently Behaviour and Operations Support for The Labrador Rescue Trust, has been a resident dog Behaviourist and Trainer for the UK's largest Animal Welfare Charity, a Centre Manager for an independent rescue and is also a Trustee for an independent dog rescue.

Both are members of the Pet Professional Guild and are associated with individual breed rescues (Boxer and Labrador).

As assessed and qualified members of a leading Dog Behaviour and Training Association, they are proud to display the UK Dog Behaviour & Training charter symbol and frequently update their Continued Professional Development to ensure having the best knowledge and expertise available to benefit carers and dogs.
